One important pro for the Gitzo monopod and tripod I own, is that you can order any spare part for it (including leg sections) and have these delivered next day to you. I keep a little bag of spare parts with me just in case and I haven't seen the same support from other manufacturers.

Isn't the problem with mirrorless that you don't see real life in real time as you look through the viewfinder? Isn't it a live digital video recording you are looking at? Is the Z battery life still much less than on DSLR? For how I shoot, the only possible benefits I could see using mirrorless is a silent shutter and hopefully it would have more accurate color in mixed lighting. I'm thinking about getting a D850 just to have for when my current one dies.

I wonder if they will switch REd Cameras from RF mount to Z mount?

Very informative video on what looks to be a great lens , have you tried it with the 1.4 a 2x TC's and what is the small attachment you have in the hotshoe towards the end of the video ?

The F 500 PF can be gotten in 10/10 used condition with a 6 month warranty for under $2200, and its just as sharp as the Z 600 PF. This Sigma is way too little, far too late. This lens should have come out 5+ years ago.

Hi Matt, Can you solve a problem for me when using the X2D with the latest 90mm f2.5 lens. using a Nikon SB900 flash off camera and a Nikon Godox trigger or the same flash on the hot shoe, with the leaf shutter I am finding I lose at least 1 stop of flash power at a 1/2000 sync speed and nearer 2 stops of flash power at 1/4000 sync speed. At speeds less than 1/600 sec there is no problem. Have you had this problem? can you offer any suggestions why this is happening? Possibly a latency problem? I noticed you use a different type of trigger for off camera flash. Many thanks

Brilliant video, I thought I saw a small flash on camera or was it a Flash trigger, which models of either did you use? With such a high dynamic range is it necessary to use the off camera flash trick of underexposing the background a little, then adding flash to make the image pop.

Hi Matt, you seem like the guy to answer my question... If your looking for a mid range camera specifically for low light and challenging lighting scenarios, would R6ii be your go to, or is the Z6iii suitable too. I'm invested in Nikon gear, but sick of having to rely on DSLR and auto-assist beams on speedlights to focus in tricky areas. Want to fully move over to mirrorless... but so far I haven't found a body that I can fully trust.

Here's a simple rule for everyone: when comparing portrait photos taken with lenses A and B, if most areas in the images have the same brightness but the face in the photo taken with lens A is brighter than the face in the photo taken with lens B, it means lens A has worse low-frequency spectrum transmission. The camera compensates for this by increasing the exposure in the darker areas to match the brightness of lens B, making the face appear a bit overexposed. So, an 80's performance in dark areas is clearly better than a 110's, but the trade-off is a slight loss in resolution. This is because many lenses that perform poorly in dark areas use low-dispersion glass, which has worse low-frequency spectrum transmission. When dispersion control is improved, resolution also improves, but the transmission of light in dark areas suffers. This trade-off significantly affects skin texture when taking portraits, which is why, from a scientific standpoint, the 110 doesn't outperform the 80.

Canon R6 Mark ii and Canon R6 has better focus settings. And focus points too. 600+ on Z6 lll while Canon R6 and R6 Mark ii has 2000+ points

I am primarily interested in the Fuji GFX for the following image aspect ratios: 7:6 (to match aspect ratio of my RB67 SLRs) 5:4 (to match aspect ratio of my 4x5 inch large format view camera) 65:24 (to duplicate the aspect ratio of the Hasselblad XPan rangefinder) 4:3 (to match the aspect ratio of my micro 4/3 digital cameras) 3:2 (to match the aspect ratio of my 6x9cm medium format rangefinder and my 35mm film cameras) 35mm aspect ratios (this smaller 3:2 aspect ratio would allow me to use my inventory of full-frame lenses mounted on the GFX) Custom 34.4x25.8mm image size for custom 4:3 aspect ratio to use with my full-frame lenses mounted on the GFX

I'd rather have a button I can assign that will quickly rack the focus back. Having the software do it automatically is just asking for a new problem.

I own and use the 135mm f/2 Zeiss, 85mm f/1.4 Nikkor, and 80-200mm f/2.8 Nikkor for portraits. All three produce excellent images.

How is the delay on the HDMI output? Is it worse than the Panasonic S5ii? Because I’m thinking of getting 2x to live streaming but stuck between these 2 bodies

Take off the lug. Replace with a Peak Design connector dongly thing using detal floss looped through/around/back through and you are all set.
